Religious Life Internship (RLI)

Religious life Internship (RLI) is a paid internship. Each Religious Life Intern is the leader of a designated prayer community. The RLI organizes and leads services and is the go-to person – the glue – of his or her prayer community.

Currently, Hillel Montreal has three prayer communities:

  • Traditional Sephardic
  • Reform
  • Kolot Rabbim (Traditional egalitarian)

Each prayer community meets every other Friday night for Shabbat services, led by the RLIs and overseen by Rabbi Farkas. Following services, the three prayer communities meet for a joint Shabbat dinner. This pluralistic experience allows for the existence of communities within the larger community.

The ideal candidate:

  • strong leadership skills
  • demonstrated commitment to a particular prayer community
  • ability to organize, facilitate and lead services.

Interested applicants should contact Rabbi Moshe Farkas at
